We live in San Diego, a Mediterranean type climate with the Pacific Ocean to the west, mountains and desert to the east and about 10 inches of rainfall per year. Water is a scarce resource in this environment and gardening here must always be conscious of that fact of life.

Return of the Shrubbery Police
Yea! The fire inspector returned today and said we are now in compliance in both Zones 1 (house to 30 feet) and 2 (30 to 60 feet). Cindy showed her all the work we had done since the first visit and was told that the property was now in compliance with the city's code, so we're happy about that.
